In 1795, Bozzini of Germany entered from the natural orifice, creating the origin of the endoscope. In 1835, Antoine Jean Desormeaux, the father of endoscopy, used a kerosene lamp as a light source to observe the condition of the bladder through mirror refraction. The world's first endoscope was created in 1853 by the French doctor De Somio. An endoscope is a commonly used medical device. It consists of a bendable part, a light source and a set of lenses. When in use, the endoscope is introduced into the pre-examined organ, and the changes in the relevant parts can be directly observed.
The earliest endoscopes were used for rectal examinations. The doctor inserts a hard tube into the anus of the patient, and observes the lesions of the rectum with the help of the light of a candle. The diagnostic information that can be obtained by this method is limited, and the patient is not only very painful, but also because the instrument is very hard, the risk of perforation is very high. Despite these shortcomings, endoscopy has continued to be used and developed, and many different purposes and types of instruments have been designed over time.
In 1855, the Spaniard Cahersa invented the laryngoscope. The ophthalmoscope was invented in 1861 by the German Hymann von Heimerz.
In 1878, Edison invented the light bulb, especially after the appearance of miniature light bulbs, which greatly developed the endoscope, and the temporary operation endoscopy can also reach a very precise level.
In 1878, German urologist M. Neitz created the cystoscope, which can be used to check certain lesions in the bladder.
In 1897, the German Brother Killian conceived of the bronchoscope. More than 20 years later, under the impetus of American Joan Chevalier Jackson, bronchoscopy entered the practical stage. Soon, this bronchoscope was used in routine pulmonary examinations. In 1862, German Small created the esophagoscope. In 1903, American Kelly created the rectoscope, but it was not widely used until 1930. In 1913, the Swedish Jacobs reformed the pleuroscopy method. In 1922, American Schindler founded the gastroscopy method. In 1928, the German Kalk founded the laparoscopy method. In 1936, the American Scarf conducted a ventriculoscopy test, and it was not until 1962 that the Germans Guau and Forestier created the ventriculoscopy method. Since then, a complete set of microscopic examination series has been formed.
