Introduction of Industrial Endoscope Parameters---Field of View Angle

The main technical parameters of the endoscope camera include resolution, focal length, depth of field, and field of view. The resolution determines the clarity of the observed object. Focal length and depth of field determine the distance of observable objects. The field of view determines the width of the observable object.

The field of view refers to the maximum range that the endoscope can reach at the same time, that is, the cone angle value with the vertex at the end of the endoscope lens, in degrees, and the object image of the measured target can pass through the two edges of the maximum range of the lens The angle formed is called the angle of view. The larger the field of view, the larger the field of view.

EZON currently sells endoscopes with four field of view angles: 80°, 88°, 100°, and 140°

Usually the standard field of view is 80°, and the depth of field of observable objects is 30-80cm, which cannot achieve macro observation.

The 88° field of view can observe objects with a depth of field range of 5-30cm, which can realize macro observation.

Both 120° and 140° belong to large angles, and the depth of field of observable objects ranges from 7 to 110cm. The depth and width of objects observable by large-angle lenses are larger.

As the field of view increases, so does the distortion of the endoscope. The most common of these include astigmatism, deviation, misalignment, and bending distortion. These distortions will reduce the accuracy of the endoscope and affect the quality control in industrial production.

So why does the distortion of the endoscope increase with the increase of the field of view? This is because the field of view of the endoscope is achieved by reflecting the light from the glass plate above the peep tube to the optical path system. However, this way of reflecting and refracting light causes astigmatism and aberrations that vary with the field of view.

When we buy an endoscope, the larger the angle, the better. If the field of view is too small, the observation range is limited, but the relative clarity is high. On the contrary, the field of view is too large, and the observation range will be larger, but it is easy to cause serious distortion. accuracy of judgment. When purchasing an endoscope field of view, it is necessary to comprehensively select the appropriate product according to the application scenario, the diameter of the observation area, and the quality requirements of the observed image.
